Hard to remember what self-ravaging motive was behind this, but the obscurity of focus indicates a nascent awareness of the parasitical side of our/my nature as we got to grips with the slippery pole of life in the big time.

It's amazing to reflect on the nature of my/our (what I mean is Roger Glover and I - we wrote the words. That's the reason for the Wordography, as the instrumental side of things has been covered many times, in other places) naivety and think what it is we lose and gain when maturity replaces youth and perspective replaces self-discovery. That's one of the lessons I've learned: There's a charm about innocent vulnerability that draws you in but when you learn to build castles around your weaknesses you discover that people give up trying to understand you because they can't get at the heart that was previously worn on your sleeve.
